Master the Order-to-Delivery Flow Before You Apply

This role sits at the nerve center of sales operations—where orders, logistics, and customer expectations meet. Hiring managers will be looking for someone who can keep that flow moving without dropping a single detail, especially when dealing with fresh produce timelines.

    1. Show ERP fluency on your CV: If you have used Oracle, SAP, or any ERP system, list it clearly with the modules you handled—order management, invoicing, or inventory. If you haven't used Oracle, highlight your ability to learn new systems quickly and give an example of mastering software in a past role.

    2. Prove your Excel muscle: Advanced Excel is non-negotiable here. On your CV, mention specific functions you use—VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data validation—and describe a time you built a report that helped a team make a decision. Be ready to demonstrate this in an interview or test.

    3. Connect the dots between orders and logistics: This job isn't just about processing orders; it's about ensuring trucks, loaders, and off-loaders are ready. Prepare a story that shows you've coordinated with logistics partners or managed delivery timelines before, even if it was in a different context.

    4. Highlight your customer service mindset: The role emphasizes acceptable customer service and minimizing delays, especially for fresh produce. Share an example where you went out of your way to keep a customer happy or resolved a delivery issue under pressure.

    5. Prepare for questions on payment and documentation: You'll be ensuring orders are paid in time and in full, and managing Goods Receipts and Proofs of Delivery. Think of a time you handled payment follow-ups or reconciled documents—this shows you understand the financial side of order processing.

    6. Show you're a proactive problem-solver: The job asks you to share challenges with your line manager proactively. Have an example ready where you flagged a potential issue before it became a problem, and explain how you communicated it.

    7. Tailor your CV to the fresh produce context: If you have any experience with perishable goods, seasonal demand, or fast-moving inventory, highlight it. If not, emphasize your ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing priorities.

    8. Practice a clear communication style: Since you'll be updating the sales team and coordinating with logistics, your communication skills will be tested. In your interview, speak concisely and confidently, and be ready to explain complex processes in simple terms.
