How to Apply: Send your application to healthsalesrecruitment@jubileekenya.com quoting the Position and preferred location as the subject.

Prove You Can Sell Health Insurance Through Bank Channels

Bancassurance sales roles are won by candidates who can show they understand both insurance products and the bank branch environment. Hiring managers for this position will look for evidence that you can build trust with bank staff, generate leads consistently, and hit monthly targets without constant supervision.

    1. Quantify your insurance sales record: On your CV, replace vague phrases like 'experienced in insurance sales' with numbers. State how many policies you sold per month, the premium value you generated, and your conversion rate from leads to closed sales. If you worked through bank branches, name the banks and the products you pushed. This role demands at least two years in sales, so the recruiter will scan for proof of consistent target achievement.

    2. Show you understand bancassurance mechanics: Explain in your cover letter how you have previously partnered with bank staff to identify customers who need health cover. Describe how you trained or supported bank tellers and relationship managers to spot referral opportunities. The job requires building strong relationships with bank staff, so demonstrate that you know how to keep them motivated to refer business to you.

    3. Prepare a 30-60-90 day lead plan: Before the interview, sketch a simple plan for your first three months. For example, week one to two: map the partner bank branches in your region and meet branch managers. Month one: run product awareness sessions with bank staff. Month two: set a weekly lead target and track conversions. This shows you are self-motivated and goal-oriented, which the posting explicitly asks for.

    4. Brush up on retail health insurance products: Be ready to explain the features, benefits, and exclusions of common retail health policies in Kenya. The interviewer may ask you to role-play a pitch to a bank customer. Practice explaining waiting periods, dependents cover, and outpatient versus inpatient benefits in plain language. Your ability to simplify complex products will set you apart.

    5. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with examples: The posting stresses excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills. Prepare stories of how you handled a difficult customer or persuaded a hesitant bank client. Use the STAR method: Situation, Task, Action, Result. For instance, describe a time you turned a cold lead from a bank teller into a closed health insurance sale.

    6. Know the Western region market: Since the role is for Western Kenya, show that you understand the local business landscape. Mention key towns like Kisumu, Kakamega, or Bungoma and the types of bank branches present. If you have existing relationships with bank staff in the region, highlight them. Employers value candidates who can hit the ground running without needing a long ramp-up.

    7. Address the hustle factor directly: The requirement says 'ready to hustle.' In the interview, give examples of how you have gone beyond your job description to find leads. Maybe you organised weekend activations or followed up with prospects after hours. Show that you are comfortable with a target-driven environment and that you track your own performance daily.

    8. Ask smart questions about the partnership model: At the end of the interview, ask how the bancassurance arrangement is structured. For example, ask whether you will be based at the bank or in the field, how leads are allocated, and what support you get from the insurer. This shows you are serious about the role and helps you understand what success looks like. It also signals that you are thinking about how to deliver results from day one.
