Show You Can Turn Complaints into Loyalty

Client engagement roles live and die by how you handle the tough calls. Hiring managers here want proof you can stay calm, dig into the real issue, and leave the customer feeling heard — not just processed.

    1. Lead with your resolution wins: On your CV, don't just say you handled complaints. Quantify it: how many tickets a day, what resolution rate, or a specific tricky case you turned around. Numbers make your empathy tangible.

    2. Know the money side: This role touches account funding and withdrawals. Brush up on basic investment and fund management terms — CIS, CBK, RBA. You don't need to be an analyst, but you should sound fluent when a client asks about their money.

    3. Prepare a portal troubleshooting story: You'll help clients with account access and technical issues. Have a story ready where you walked someone through a login problem or a transaction query without losing your cool.

    4. Show you can chase targets politely: You'll be calling clients with unfunded accounts. That's sales-adjacent. Give an example of how you've encouraged someone to act without being pushy — maybe a follow-up email that worked.

    5. Practice the 'listen first' move: In the interview, they'll probe how you handle an angry customer. Show you can let them vent, summarize their issue back, and then offer a fix. That's the active listening they listed.

    6. Highlight your record-keeping discipline: This job demands accurate, confidential records. Mention how you've kept client data clean and followed data protection rules — even if it's just a course you've taken.

    7. Show you can work across teams: You'll collaborate with fund services and others. Have an example of when you worked with another department to solve a client's problem — that shows you're not a solo operator.

    8. Ask about their systems: In your questions, ask what CRM or portal tools they use. It shows you're practical and ready to hit the ground running, not just collecting a paycheck.
