    Job Description

    We are recruiting on behalf of our client a highly organized and proactive Inventory & Stock Controller to support inventory operations within a fast-paced FMCG distribution environment. The role is responsible for ensuring accurate stock control, efficient dispatch operations, effective supplier coordination, and strict adherence to inventory controls and standard operating procedures (SOPs). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing high-volume stock movement and supervising warehouse operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Implement and maintain effective inventory control systems, procedures, and documentation.
    2. Monitor inventory levels, reorder points, and safety stock to ensure optimal availability.
    3. Conduct daily stock counts, weekly checks, and monthly stock takes, reconciling physical stock with system records.
    4. Manage stock rotation to minimize expiries, damages, and wastage.
    5. Maintain accurate stock valuation and ensure supplier pricing is correctly updated in the system.
    6. Process purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and supplier invoices accurately and on time.
    7. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and resolve supply issues.
    8. Ensure accurate receiving, coding, pricing, and posting of inventory transactions in the ERP system.
    9. Track inventory movements to prevent stockouts, overstocking, and shrinkage.
    10. Oversee picking, packing, and dispatch of customer sales orders in line with delivery schedules.
    11. Verify accuracy of dispatched goods against delivery notes and supporting documentation.
    12. Maintain a clean, organized, and secure warehouse and dispatch area.
    13. Supervise safe loading of vehicles to reduce breakages, losses, and delivery delays.
    14. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and service providers.
    15. Support negotiations on pricing, payment terms, and service level agreements (SLAs).
    16. Monitor supplier performance and resolve quality, delivery, and compliance issues.
    17. Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvement initiatives within the supply chain.
    18. Collaborate with sales, finance, logistics, and operations teams to improve forecasting and stock movement.
    19. Research and recommend best practices, systems, and technologies to enhance inventory efficiency.

    Required Qualifications

    • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
    • 3–5 years’ experience in inventory or supply chain management within high-volume environments, preferably in FMCG distribution.
    • Strong understanding of inventory SOPs, controls, and reconciliation processes.
    • Ability to ensure stock adjustments and reconciliations are properly documented and approved.
    • Familiarity with ERP systems and barcode-based inventory tracking.
    • Exposure to FMCG distribution models, route sales operations, and returns management.
    • High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
    • Proven ability to supervise warehouse staff and enforce procedures and discipline.
    • Good communication and coordination skills with sales, finance, logistics, and management teams.
