    Job Description

    Umma University is seeking part-time lecturers to teach and mentor students in Community Health Nursing, Community Diagnosis, Nutrition and Health. The role involves teaching, research, community outreach, and student mentorship, contributing to the academic and community engagement goals of the university.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop proposals for grants and conduct research
    • Supervise student projects and research
    • Participate in seminars and workshops to disseminate research output
    • Present evidence studies in workshops, seminars, and conferences
    • Organize community activities with students in line with university guidelines
    • Evaluate community activities with students
    • Support partnerships and work with the community in line with university policy
    • Participate in departmental meetings, conferences, and other events in and outside the university
    • Get placement for students
    • Mentor students and new colleagues in the department
    • Take students on mentorship trips
    • Guide and advise weak students
    • Provide pastoral care to students by supporting individual needs and care
    • Act as a personal tutor, provide support, advice, and refer students
    • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
    • Teach and lecture students
    • Set, moderate exams, administer and give feedback to the university and students according to university guidelines
    • Ensure students have done coursework as per university guidelines

    Required Qualifications

    • Specialization in any of the following subjects: Community Health Nursing, Community Diagnosis, Nutrition and Health
    • Minimum of 3 publication points, of which at least two in refereed journal papers
    • Must have supervised at least three undergraduate students to completion as a lecturer
    • Qualify to register for PhD in the relevant area of specialization
