    Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Account Manager - Open RAN Africa to lead business development and revenue growth across the African telecom market. This role is responsible for driving Open RAN solution sales, expanding strategic partnerships with Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), and managing the full enterprise sales cycle across the region. This is a high-impact position suited for a telecom sales professional with strong regional relationships and a proven track record in mobile network infrastructure sales (2G/3G/4G/5G).

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead sales and business development strategy for Open RAN solutions across Africa
    • Build, manage, and convert a strong telecom sales pipeline to achieve revenue targets
    • Own the full sales cycle: opportunity qualification, technical coordination, proposal development, negotiation, and contract closure
    • Expand market share and strengthen regional presence within Africa's telecom ecosystem
    • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), telecom operators, and technology partners
    • Collaborate closely with the MEA sales team to ensure regional alignment and coordinated growth strategy
    • Support customer field engagements and oversee both new customer acquisition and account expansion
    • Partner with technical and customer support teams to ensure high service quality and customer satisfaction
    • Provide strategic insights on market trends, competitive landscape, and customer requirements within the African telecom market

    Required Qualifications

    • 8+ years of telecommunications sales experience, preferably in mobile networks or network infrastructure
    • 3+ years of direct Africa / MEA regional sales experience with established industry relationships
    • Proven success closing enterprise deals with MNOs and telecom operators
    • Strong understanding of 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G mobile network technologies
    • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales quotas and revenue targets
    • Bachelor's degree B.Sc or equivalent qualification
    • Strong professional recommendations and customer references
    • Experience selling Open RAN / O-RAN solutions
    • Knowledge of radio access networks (RAN), core networks, and telecom infrastructure vendors
    • Experience navigating complex, multi-stakeholder telecom procurement cycles

    Master the Telecom Procurement Maze

This role sits at the intersection of deep technical knowledge and high-stakes relationship selling. To win, you need to show you can navigate multi-stakeholder telecom deals and speak the language of both engineers and C-suite buyers.

    1. Prove your OpenRAN fluency: Be ready to discuss Open RAN architecture, interfaces, and how it compares to traditional RAN. Hiring managers will probe your understanding of the technology's benefits and challenges in African deployments.

    2. Map your MNO relationships: List the key contacts you have at African mobile operators, especially at decision-making levels. Show how you've nurtured these relationships and converted them into revenue.

    3. Show quota-crushing evidence: Quantify your past sales achievements with numbers: revenue targets met, deal sizes, and growth percentages. Use a clean, metrics-driven CV summary.

    4. Prepare a 90-day plan: Outline how you'd approach the first 90 days: which accounts to prioritize, how to build pipeline, and how to align with the MEA team. This shows strategic thinking and initiative.

    5. Understand the competitive landscape: Be ready to discuss major RAN vendors (Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei) and how Open RAN disrupts the market. Show you know where Parallel Wireless fits.

    6. Practice the full sales cycle story: Walk through a complex deal from qualification to close, highlighting how you coordinated technical teams, handled negotiations, and overcame obstacles.

    7. Highlight your regional experience: Emphasize your knowledge of African telecom regulations, market dynamics, and cultural nuances. Share examples of how you've adapted sales strategies for different countries.

    8. Show customer-centricity: Demonstrate how you've ensured customer satisfaction and built long-term partnerships. Mention any customer references or testimonials you've earned.
