    Job Description

    Kitui County is located approximately 170 km southeast of Nairobi and covers an area of about 30,496 km². It borders Machakos and Makueni Counties to the west, Tana River County to the east, Taita-Taveta County to the south, and Embu and Tharaka-Nithi Counties to the north. The County Government is committed to delivering sustainable infrastructure and public services through sound engineering practices.

    The County Government of Kitui invites applications from qualified and motivated professionals for the position of Assistant Engineer II (Electrical). The role involves supporting the design, installation, maintenance, and supervision of electrical and electronic systems across county government facilities and infrastructure projects.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Design and support the implementation of electrical and electronic engineering services in government buildings and construction projects.
    2. Carry out repair and maintenance of electrical and electronic installations in water works, offices, workshops, conference facilities, and other county government establishments.
    3. Assist in inspecting electrical installations to ensure compliance with safety standards and technical specifications.
    4. Support supervision of contractors and service providers involved in electrical works.
    5. Maintain proper records of electrical installations, maintenance activities, and technical reports.

    Required Qualifications

    1. Be a citizen of Kenya.
    2. Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
    3. Be registered with the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya (ERB) as a Graduate Engineer.
