    Key Responsibilities

    1. Plan, prepare, and deliver competency-based training (CBET) in Mechanical Engineering (Production) in line with approved TVET curricula and national training standards.
    2. Deliver both theoretical instruction and hands-on practical training in manufacturing processes, production systems, machine operations, maintenance, and workshop practices.
    3. Prepare and update lesson plans, schemes of work, training manuals, and instructional materials aligned with current industry requirements.
    4. Assess trainees through continuous assessment tests, practical evaluations, projects, and examinations, and maintain accurate academic and performance records.
    5. Supervise trainees during workshop sessions, industrial attachments, and production-based learning activities while ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations.
    6. Operate, demonstrate, and oversee proper use and maintenance of mechanical engineering tools, machines, and production equipment.
    7. Enforce occupational health, safety, and environmental standards within workshops, laboratories, and training facilities.
    8. Participate in curriculum development, review, and implementation to ensure relevance to modern manufacturing and production practices.
    9. Mentor trainees on professional ethics, teamwork, problem-solving, innovation, and career development in mechanical engineering.
    10. Liaise with industry partners to support industrial attachment programs, industry linkages, and skills development initiatives.
    11. Take part in institutional responsibilities such as examinations administration, academic committees, student supervision, and quality assurance activities.
    12. Support competency assessment and certification processes in collaboration with relevant examining and regulatory bodies.
    13. Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on emerging technologies, production methods, and teaching approaches.
    14. Perform any other related duties as assigned by the institution’s management.

    Required Qualifications

    1. a Bachelor of Education in Technical Education Degree or a Bachelor of Education Degree in Mechanical Engineering(Production) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
    2. a Bachelor Degree/Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering(Production) or equivalent and relevant qualification; and a Diploma in Education or an Advanced Diploma in Education/Diploma in Technical Trainer Education or a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from a recognized Institution;
    3. OR
    4. a Bachelor Degree/Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Production) or equivalent and relevant qualification;
    5. Be licensed by TVET Authority or meet the requirement for licensing by TVETA
    6. Be a member of a relevant professional body, where applicable.
