Master the Change Advisory Board (CAB) Pitch
In this role, your ability to present change requests clearly and confidently to the CAB can make or break your success. Hiring managers will probe how you assess risk, communicate impact, and handle pushback from stakeholders.
1. Show your telecom infrastructure fluency: Be ready to discuss Fibre, DWDM, OTN, SDH, Ethernet, and IP/MPLS in practical terms. Give examples of how you've coordinated changes involving these technologies, and how you ensured minimal service disruption.
2. Prove your Change Management process mastery: Walk through a change you managed end-to-end: from request validation, risk assessment, CAB approval, to implementation and post-implementation review. Highlight how you followed governance and compliance standards.
3. Demonstrate your CRM expertise: If you have NetSuite experience, detail how you used it to track client interactions and change requests. If not, show how you've used other CRMs to maintain accurate records and improve customer satisfaction.
4. Highlight your analytical skills with Excel: Prepare to discuss how you've used Excel to analyze complex data, create reports, or track change metrics. Bring examples of dashboards or reports you've built to support decision-making.
5. Prepare for stakeholder management questions: Expect scenarios where you had to balance conflicting priorities between clients, suppliers, and internal teams. Emphasize your communication skills, ability to synthesize information, and diplomatic approach.
6. Show your flexibility and commitment: The role requires out-of-hours and weekend work. Share instances where you went above and beyond to manage changes outside normal hours, and how you maintained a high level of service.
7. Align with company values: The posting emphasizes integrity, collaboration, customer focus, and innovation. Prepare stories that demonstrate these values in action, such as a time you prioritized transparency or drove a process improvement.
8. Ask insightful questions: Show your strategic thinking by asking about the company's change management maturity, tools they use, and how they measure success. This demonstrates your genuine interest and proactive mindset.
