    Job Description

We are looking for a talented Content Creator to launch, and be the face of, Tana's channels for early-career professionals in Kenya. This is a rare opportunity to build a brand from zero with real backing behind you: you will be on camera as a recurring personality, and you will own everything behind the scenes - ideation, scripting, filming, editing, and publishing. Starting with short-form video and growing into long-form and live formats, you will work directly with the leadership team to turn insider hiring knowledge and real success stories into content that changes careers.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Be on camera as the recurring face of Tana's channels, creating engaging, authentically Kenyan content.
    • Own production end to end: ideation, scripting, filming, editing, and publishing to a consistent, high-quality cadence.
    • Build the content operation from the ground up: calendar, playbook, kit, and channels.
    • Coordinate on-camera appearances from team members and Tana talent, telling real career stories.
    • Evolve the content mix over time, from short-form video into long-form, live, and community formats, using performance data to double down on what works.

    Required Qualifications

    • A strong portfolio of video content demonstrating both on-camera presence and hands-on production skill, gained over approx 2-5 years of relevant experience.
    • Confident and authentic on camera, with storytelling instincts that hook an audience in seconds.
    • Strong end-to-end production skills: planning, shooting, and editing polished video single-handedly.
    • Platform-native instincts for TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, with a sharp eye for what is trending.
    • Organised, self-directed, and AI-native, with the drive to publish consistently, week after week.
    • Kenyan citizen based in Kenya.

Own the Camera and the Cut

This role is about being the face and the engine of a brand-new channel. Hiring managers will want to see that you can both command attention on camera and deliver polished edits that keep viewers hooked.

    1. Show your face and your work: Your portfolio should lead with clips where you are on camera, not just your editing reels. Include a mix of short-form and longer pieces that show your range, and make sure the first 10 seconds of each clip are strong enough to stop a scroll.

    2. Prove you can run a production solo: Highlight projects where you handled scripting, filming, and editing by yourself. Walk through your workflow in the interview—how you plan shoots, manage time, and keep quality consistent when you are the whole crew.

    3. Speak platform-native: Be ready to talk about what is trending on TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts right now. Give specific examples of formats or hooks you would try for Tana's audience of early-career Kenyans.

    4. Show your storytelling instinct: Hiring teams want to see that you can turn raw material into a narrative that resonates. Bring a case study of a video you made that performed well, and break down why the story worked.

    5. Demonstrate your AI toolkit: Since the role asks for an AI-native mindset, mention the tools you use for editing, scripting, or ideation—like ChatGPT for outlines or AI-assisted editing software. Show how they speed up your process without sacrificing quality.

    6. Prepare a content plan: Come with a 30-day content calendar idea for Tana's channels. Show you understand the audience—early-career professionals in Kenya—and propose a mix of formats that could build momentum from zero.

    7. Be ready for a practical test: Many content roles include a skills assessment. Practice filming a short, engaging video on a career topic and editing it quickly. Have a sample ready to share if asked.

    8. Show you can collaborate: Even though you will own production, you will coordinate with team members and talent. Give examples of how you have worked with others to get on-camera appearances or feedback, and how you keep communication smooth.
