Show Financial Acumen and ERP Curiosity in Your Application

This internship blends finance with technical ERP work, so hiring managers will look for candidates who can speak both languages. Your application should demonstrate that you understand financial processes and are eager to learn the technical side.

    1. Tailor your CV to highlight finance and any ERP exposure: Emphasize coursework or projects in accounting, finance, or economics. If you've used any financial software (even Excel), mention it. For example, list a project where you reconciled accounts or analyzed financial data.

    2. Prepare to discuss your CPA progress: Since CPA Part I Section 2 is a minimum, be ready to talk about what you've learned and how it applies to ERP financial modules. Show that you're committed to professional growth.

    3. Show you can explain finance simply: The role involves training clients, so practice explaining concepts like accounts payable or general ledger in plain language. This demonstrates your communication skills.

    4. Demonstrate analytical problem-solving: Share examples of how you've tackled complex problems, especially ones involving numbers or data. Hiring managers want to see that you can think critically.

    5. Express genuine interest in ERP systems: Research common ERP platforms (like SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) and mention what excites you about them. This shows you're proactive and technically curious.

    6. Highlight teamwork and collaboration: The role works with cross-functional teams, so provide examples of successful group projects or collaborative experiences. Show that you can work well with others.

    7. Prepare for a technical and behavioral interview: Expect questions about your finance knowledge and how you'd handle client support scenarios. Practice answering with the STAR method to structure your responses.

    8. Follow up professionally: After applying, consider sending a polite follow-up email to the hiring team. It shows initiative and enthusiasm, but keep it brief and respectful.
