Show You Can Handle the Front Line of Insurance

Customer service in insurance is about balancing empathy with accuracy. Hiring managers will look for proof you can manage high-volume inquiries while keeping every detail compliant.

    1. Quantify your service experience: On your CV, use numbers to show the scale you handled—calls per day, resolution rates, or customer satisfaction scores. For example, "Resolved 50+ daily inquiries with a 95% satisfaction rating."

    2. Highlight insurance product knowledge: If you've worked with life insurance or pensions, list specific products or processes you know. If not, take a short course on insurance basics and mention it.

    3. Prepare for behavioral questions: Expect questions like "Tell me about a time you handled an irate customer." Use the STAR method and focus on how you de-escalated and resolved the issue.

    4. Show CRM proficiency: Be ready to discuss your experience with CRM tools like Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics. Mention any data entry or reporting tasks you handled.

    5. Understand regulatory basics: Familiarize yourself with the Insurance Act, Data Protection Act, and AML guidelines. You may be asked how you ensure compliance in daily tasks.

    6. Emphasize attention to detail: In insurance, small errors can cause big problems. Give examples of how you double-checked data or caught mistakes.

    7. Demonstrate digital adoption support: Since the role involves educating customers on self-service tools, share any experience you have guiding customers to use apps or online portals.

    8. Ask smart questions: In the interview, ask about the team structure, typical customer issues, and how success is measured. This shows genuine interest and helps you decide if it's the right fit.

CareerSasa Safety Alert: Never pay employers or agencies for interviews, training, or job placement. Does a job request payment? Report it immediately using the "Flag" button. While CareerSasa vets job postings thoroughly, always verify opportunities independently.
