    Job Description

    Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Limited operates under a non-operating holding company structure and is one of the leading financial institutions in East Africa.     The Cybersecurity Analyst will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level data security controls while ensuring compliance with regulatory, legal, and industry cybersecurity frameworks. The role supports continuous monitoring, vulnerability management, risk mitigation, and secure technology adoption across KCB Bank’s digital and cloud environments.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Design, implement, and maintain data security controls including data classification, labeling, encryption, and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) across on-premise and cloud environments
    2. Develop and maintain data security policies, standards, procedures, and Minimum Security Configuration Baseline Standards in line with industry best practices
    3. Ensure compliance with applicable laws and frameworks such as the Kenya Data Protection Act, ISO 27001, GDPR, and other relevant standards
    4. Support internal and external audits related to data security, privacy, and cybersecurity controls
    5. Support cybersecurity risk assessments and remediation efforts in collaboration with Information Risk and Audit teams
    6. Collaborate with the Cybersecurity Intelligence and Security Operations Centre (CISOC) to continuously monitor and defend the Bank’s infrastructure against cyber threats
    7. Support the secure adoption of new technologies, applications, and platforms prior to production deployment
    8. Lead end-to-end vulnerability management for databases and data stores across cloud and on-prem infrastructure
    9. Conduct vulnerability assessments, perform risk-based prioritization, and coordinate remediation with technical teams
    10. Track, report, and ensure continuous compliance with vulnerability remediation requirements
    11. Conduct cybersecurity awareness and data protection training sessions across the Group
    12. Continuously research emerging threats, technologies, and security trends, providing expert guidance to business and technical teams

    Required Qualifications

    Education:

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Required)
    2. Master’s degree (MBA or MSc) (Added Advantage)

    Professional Certifications (At least one required):

    1. SC-401: Information Protection Administrator Associate
    2. CISA – Certified Information Systems Auditor
    3. CISM – Certified Information Security Manager
    4. CISSP – Certified Information Systems Security Professional
    5. SSCP – Systems Security Certified Practitioner
    6. CompTIA Security+
    7. ISO 27001 Lead Implementer / Auditor
    8. OSCP – Offensive Security Certified Professional
    9. Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP)
    10. SC-900: Microsoft Security, Compliance & Identity Fundamentals

    Experience:

    1. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in cybersecurity or information security roles
    2. Experience in banking, financial services, or regulated environments is an added advantage

    1. Strong understanding of data protection, privacy, and cybersecurity frameworks
    2. Hands-on experience with cloud and on-prem security controls
    3. Knowledge of vulnerability management and risk remediation processes
    4. Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills
    5. Ability to collaborate across technical, risk, and business teams
