    Job Description

    Umma University seeks a Dean for its School of Medicine to provide academic and administrative leadership. The Dean will ensure compliance with medical regulatory bodies, oversee program development and accreditation, manage staff and resources, and promote research and partnerships.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Ensure compliance with medical councils, health regulators, and accreditation agencies
    • Ensure quality clinical teaching and training in collaboration with teaching hospitals and health facilities
    • Manage academic staff, clinical instructors, and administrative personnel.
    • Manage School budgets, facilities, laboratories, and clinical training resources.
    • Oversee student welfare, discipline, and professional conduct.
    • Oversee the development, delivery, and accreditation of medical and health sciences programs.
    • Promote research, innovation, and ethical medical practice
    • Strengthen partnerships with hospitals, government agencies, and international institutions.

    Required Qualifications

    • At least 10 years' experience in medical education and practice, with leadership experience
    • Medical degree MBChB or equivalent and a PhD or recognized postgraduate medical qualification.
    • Registered medical practitioner in good standing.
