Key Responsibilities Oversee the general management of the school laboratory, including proper handling of equipment and reagents. Plan, budget, and make requisitions for laboratory equipment and reagents in coordination with school administration. Maintain clear and accurate inventory records for all reagents and laboratory equipment. Liaise with academic staff to align lesson timetables and equipment requirements. Prepare reagents and equipment ahead of practical lessons. Ensure proper cleaning, storage, and safe handling of all laboratory materials. Supervise practical activities to promote safety and proper technique among learners. Coordinate maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment to ensure uninterrupted learning activities. Keep detailed records of learners’ practical sessions, methods, and results. Offer technical support to teachers during lab sessions, including troubleshooting apparatus and providing scientific guidance. Monitor laboratory stock levels and ensure timely replenishment of reagents and consumables. Stay current with scientific and technical developments relevant to lab operations and education.
