    Show Your Visual Storytelling Range

This role sits at the heart of a school's brand, so hiring managers will be looking for more than just technical clicks — they want proof you can translate a school's values into visuals that resonate with parents and students. Your portfolio is your loudest voice here, so make it count.

    1. Curate a portfolio that speaks to education: If you have any work for schools, youth programs, or community projects, lead with it. Show that you understand the tone — warm, professional, and inspiring. If you lack direct education samples, create mock-ups for a school event or campaign to demonstrate your fit.

    2. Show both design and video chops: Don't just list software skills; show a reel that includes event recaps, social clips, and a short brand piece. For design, include posters, social media graphics, and a newsletter layout. Make sure the work is organized and easy to navigate.

    3. Prove you can manage multiple projects: Schools run on tight timelines — think sports days, concerts, and admission cycles. In your CV or interview, describe a time you juggled competing deadlines and delivered quality. Use numbers: “Produced 10 videos and 20 graphics in one month” carries weight.

    4. Highlight your collaboration style: You'll work closely with the Marketing Coordinator and other staff. Share an example of how you took feedback and refined a piece. Mention how you keep files organized and accessible — that's a quiet superpower in a busy school office.

    5. Know the school's brand before you apply: Visit Mirema School's website and social channels. Note their color palette, tone, and the types of content they post. In your cover letter or interview, reference something specific you noticed and how you'd build on it.

    6. Prepare for a practical test: Many creative roles include a timed design or editing task. Practice working quickly in Adobe tools and Canva. Have a few templates ready for social posts or event flyers that you can adapt on the spot.

    7. Show you understand consent and ethics: The posting mentions following consent procedures for photography. Be ready to talk about how you handle minors' images — this shows you're responsible and trustworthy, which is non-negotiable in a school setting.

    8. Bring fresh ideas to the interview: Come with two or three content ideas for the school — a video series, a social media campaign, or a design refresh. This shows initiative and that you've thought deeply about the role. It also gives you a chance to demonstrate your creativity in real time.
