    Job Description

    Umma University is seeking part-time lecturers in the IT department to teach, supervise student projects, conduct research, and engage in community outreach. The role involves mentoring students, participating in departmental activities, and supporting the university's academic mission.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop proposals for grants and conduct research
    • Supervise student projects and research
    • Participate in seminars and workshops to disseminate research output
    • Present evidence studies in workshops, seminars, and conferences
    • Organize community activities with students in line with university guidelines
    • Evaluate community activities with students
    • Support partnerships and work with the community in line with university policy
    • Participate in departmental meetings, conferences, and other events
    • Get placement for students
    • Mentor students and new colleagues
    • Take students on mentorship trips
    • Guide and advise weak students
    • Provide pastoral care and support to students
    • Act as a personal tutor, provide support, advice, and referrals
    • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
    • Teach and lecture students
    • Set, moderate, administer, and provide feedback on exams according to university guidelines
    • Ensure students have completed coursework as per university guidelines

    Required Qualifications

    • Any of these subjects of specialization: Software engineering, Networking and Security, Robotics, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Electronic
    • Minimum of 3 publication points, of which at least two in refereed journal papers
    • Must have supervised at least three undergraduate students to completion as a lecturer
    • Qualify to register for PhD in the relevant area of specialization
