Show Your Research and Teaching Impact

For a lecturer role, your CV must demonstrate both teaching excellence and a solid research record. Hiring committees at universities look for evidence of publication points, supervision experience, and the ability to engage students.

    1. Highlight your publication record: Clearly list your journal papers, conference presentations, and any other scholarly outputs. Quantify your publication points if possible, as the requirement specifies a minimum of 24 points.

    2. Detail your teaching experience: Include the courses you've taught, the levels (undergraduate/postgraduate), and any innovative teaching methods you've used. Mention any positive feedback or teaching awards.

    3. Showcase supervision experience: If you've supervised student research, describe the number of students and the topics. This demonstrates your ability to guide others.

    4. Emphasize your PhD and field: Ensure your highest degree is prominent, and align your specialization with the job's focus on English and Linguistics. If your PhD is in a related field, explain the relevance.

    5. Prepare for a teaching demonstration: Universities often ask for a sample lecture. Prepare a concise, engaging presentation that showcases your communication skills and subject mastery.

    6. Discuss your research plans: Be ready to talk about your current research interests and how they align with the department's goals. Show that you are an active researcher.

    7. Understand the university's values: Kabarak University is a Christian institution. Familiarize yourself with its mission and values to show alignment in the interview.

    8. Gather your documents: Have your academic certificates, professional registrations, and a list of publications ready. Ensure they are organized and easily accessible.
