Master the Dynamics 365 Stack Before You Apply

This role is all about deep ERP know-how and integration finesse. Hiring managers will probe your hands-on AL development, your ability to connect Business Central to the Microsoft ecosystem, and how you handle real-world business requirements.

    1. Showcase your AL projects: On your CV, list specific Business Central customizations you've built—extensions, pages, reports, and integrations. Mention the modules you've configured and the scale of the deployments.

    2. Prove your integration experience: Be ready to discuss how you've integrated Business Central with Power BI, Power Automate, or other systems using REST APIs and OData. Concrete examples of data flows and troubleshooting will set you apart.

    3. Highlight your ERP consulting skills: Emphasize your experience gathering requirements, translating them into technical solutions, and supporting UAT. Show that you can talk to both business users and developers.

    4. Prepare for technical questions: Expect questions on AL coding, upgrade-safe development, and performance tuning. Review the latest Business Central release notes and best practices.

    5. Demonstrate your documentation skills: Since the role involves preparing functional and technical documentation, have samples ready that show clear, structured writing.

    6. Understand the education sector: This is a university, so be ready to discuss how ERP systems support student information systems, LMS, and payroll. Familiarize yourself with common challenges in academic institutions.

    7. Show your commitment to learning: Mention any Microsoft certifications or ongoing training. The field evolves quickly, and they want someone who stays current.

    8. Practice your communication: You'll be training users and managing change. Prepare to explain technical concepts in simple terms and share how you've handled resistance to new systems.
