    Additional Information

How to Apply: Send your application to careers@makinihighschool.ac.ke. Ensure your CV highlights your teaching experience, qualifications, and TSC registration.

    Show Your Cambridge Classroom Impact

Makini High School wants a music teacher who can step into an international school setting and deliver results from day one. Your application should prove you've done this before—not just that you can play an instrument.

    1. Lead with your Cambridge experience: If you've taught in a Cambridge Assessment International Education school, put that front and center. Mention the specific grade levels and subjects you've handled, and any curriculum development you've contributed to.

    2. Quantify your teaching impact: Instead of saying 'I have 5+ years of experience,' give examples: 'Improved student pass rates in IGCSE Music by 20% over two years.' Numbers make your achievements tangible.

    3. Highlight your TSC registration clearly: The posting explicitly requires TSC registration. Place your TSC number prominently on your CV and in your cover letter to show you meet this non-negotiable requirement.

    4. Show your leadership in action: The job asks for strong leadership skills. Describe a time you led a school choir, organized a music festival, or mentored junior teachers. Concrete examples beat generic claims.

    5. Demonstrate your safeguarding knowledge: Child protection is a priority. Mention any safeguarding training you've completed and how you've applied it in your previous roles. This reassures the school of your professionalism.

    6. Tailor your CV to the school's ethos: Research Makini High School's values and mission. Align your CV and cover letter to show you understand their approach to education and student development.

    7. Prepare for a practical teaching demo: International schools often ask for a teaching demonstration. Prepare a sample lesson that showcases your ability to engage students and deliver the Cambridge curriculum effectively.

    8. Show your passion for student empowerment: The job description emphasizes inspiring and motivating students. Share a story of a student you helped overcome a challenge in music, showing your commitment to their growth.
