Show Your Clinical Judgment in the Interview

Physiotherapy hiring panels in Kenya look for more than just your degree—they want to see how you handle real patients, from assessment to discharge. Be ready to walk them through a case where your intervention made a measurable difference.

    1. Polish your CV around patient outcomes: Instead of listing duties, highlight specific results—like improved mobility scores or reduced pain levels. For example, mention that you helped 80% of post-stroke patients regain independent walking within three months.

    2. Rehearse common clinical scenarios: Expect questions on managing chronic back pain, post-operative rehabilitation, or sports injuries. Practice explaining your reasoning for choosing specific modalities like manual therapy or therapeutic exercises.

    3. Know your equipment and techniques: Be ready to discuss ultrasound, TENS, and exercise prescription. Mention any experience with specialized equipment like balance boards or resistance bands.

    4. Emphasize your communication skills: Physiotherapists work closely with patients and other healthcare providers. Share an example of how you explained a complex treatment plan to a patient or collaborated with a doctor.

    5. Show you stay updated: Mention any recent courses or workshops you've attended, like dry needling or sports physiotherapy. This shows you're committed to lifelong learning.

    6. Prepare questions for the panel: Ask about the patient load, typical cases, and opportunities for professional development. This shows you're genuinely interested in the role and the organization.

    7. Dress professionally and arrive early: First impressions matter in healthcare. Wear clean, professional attire and bring extra copies of your CV and certificates.

    8. Follow up after the interview: Send a polite thank-you email within 24 hours, reiterating your interest and summarizing why you're a good fit. This small gesture can set you apart.

CareerSasa Safety Alert: Never pay employers or agencies for interviews, training, or job placement. Does a job request payment? Report it immediately using the "Flag" button. While CareerSasa vets job postings thoroughly, always verify opportunities independently.
