    Job Description

    This role involves conducting detailed assessments of the visual system, diagnosing and treating eye conditions, performing surgeries, managing traumatic eye injuries, and prescribing corrective lenses. The position also requires evaluating patients for surgery and interpreting advanced imaging tests.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conducting detailed assessments of the visual system to determine the health of the eye and surrounding structures.
    • Diagnosing and treating eye conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts and eye infections using medication.
    • Performing surgeries for cataracts, glaucoma, refractive errors LASIK, corneal issues and retina disorders.
    • Managing traumatic eye injuries and providing acute, urgent care.
    • Evaluating patients' suitability for surgery and monitoring recovery afterward.
    • Prescribing glasses and contact lenses to correct vision impairment.
    • Ordering and interpreting advanced imaging and tests, such as optical coherence tomography OCT or visual field tests.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery M.B.Ch.B degree from an institution recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
    • Master's degree in Ophthalmology.
    • Certificate of Registration by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
    • Valid practicing license from the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
    • Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Programme lasting not less than six 6 weeks from a recognized institution.
    • Certificate in Computer application skills from a recognized institution.
    • Demonstrated professional competence and managerial capability as reflected in work performance and results.
