    Job Description

Owns end-to-end execution of System Integration Testing (SIT) for Mobile Banking Apps and holds broader quality-oversight responsibility across the full programme, including phases executed by other teams and partner organisations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Own the Master Test Strategy and keep it current as programme understanding evolves.
    • Chair daily defect triage; own defect severity and root-cause classification discipline.
    • Maintain full traceability from source requirement through test case to defect resolution.
    • Deliver weekly status reporting with RAG status and top risks to the CTO and Product Owner.
    • Lead formal sign-off against Exit Criteria before User Acceptance Testing (UAT) begins.
    • Lead UAT execution across business participants from partner organisations, via a dedicated UAT Coordinator.
    • Provide quality oversight of programme phases outside direct execution — customer experience review, migration, performance/load testing, security penetration testing, compliance checks, environment stabilisation, and go-live.
    • Own selection and ongoing validation of vendor-sourced specialist roles (security, architecture and code review, performance, DevSecOps).
    • Chair a weekly cross-phase coordination sync with all phase owners.

    Required Qualifications

    • Proven track record leading QA/test management for digital banking, fintech, or large-scale financial-services platforms.
    • Experience with concurrent/continuous testing models — testing alongside active development, not gated behind a code-freeze milestone.
    • Demonstrated ability to own both hands-on execution and cross-team quality oversight simultaneously.
    • Experience managing vendor/contractor relationships for specialist technical roles.
    • Test management, banking/fintech domain knowledge, stakeholder communication, defect-tracking tooling administration (e.g., Jira), release governance.
    • SIT signs off on schedule with zero open Critical/High defects; UAT completes with clean business sign-off; every downstream phase has current, accurate visibility into SIT's findings.

Own the Test Strategy Like a Programme Leader

This role isn't just about executing tests — it's about steering quality across the entire programme. Hiring managers will probe how you've balanced hands-on SIT leadership with oversight of phases run by others, and how you've kept stakeholders aligned under pressure.

    1. Show evidence of end-to-end ownership: On your CV, highlight a project where you owned the Master Test Strategy from planning to go-live. Quantify the scale — number of test cases, teams coordinated, and the size of the budget or vendor contracts you managed.

    2. Prove your defect triage discipline: Be ready to walk through a real example of a daily triage you chaired. Explain how you classified severity, drove root-cause analysis, and escalated risks to C-level stakeholders without causing panic.

    3. Demonstrate traceability mastery: Interviewers will ask how you maintained traceability from requirements to test cases to defects. Mention specific tools (e.g., Jira, HP ALM) and show a sample traceability matrix if you have one.

    4. Speak the language of banking and fintech: Expect questions on regulatory compliance, security testing, and performance testing in digital banking. Brush up on key terms like PCI DSS, penetration testing, and load testing to show domain fluency.

    5. Show how you handle vendor relationships: This role manages vendor-sourced specialists. Prepare a story about selecting a vendor, setting SLAs, and validating their work — what criteria did you use, and how did you ensure quality?

    6. Communicate with impact: Weekly reporting to a CTO demands concise, data-driven updates. Practice explaining a complex test status in under two minutes, focusing on RAG status, top risks, and what you need to unblock progress.

    7. Prepare for scenario questions: You may be given a scenario where SIT is behind schedule with critical defects. Think through your approach: how to re-prioritize, communicate trade-offs, and still achieve a clean sign-off.

    8. Know your tools inside out: Beyond Jira, be ready to discuss test management tools like Xray, Zephyr, or TestRail. Mention how you've used them for reporting and traceability, and be honest about your proficiency level.
