    • Inspect received items for visible damage, shortages, incorrect specifications, serial-number mismatches or other discrepancies, and escalate exceptions promptly

    • Maintain a clean, safe, well-organised and audit-ready stores environment in line with warehouse housekeeping and 5S principles
    • Pick stock accurately against approved requests, work orders or transfer instructions, verifying item codes, quantities, serial numbers and destination details

    • Prepare accurate tags, labels, serial-number records, dispatch documentation and handover documents for equipment stored, issued or transferred through the warehouse

    • Ensure outbound orders are complete, correctly documented and dispatched within agreed timelines to support operational continuity and service delivery
    • Coordinate courier collections, delivery bookings and relevant logistics arrangements, ensuring proof-of-dispatch and proof-of-delivery records are retained
    • Support regular cycle counts, spot checks and scheduled stocktakes, ensuring physical counts are accurately captured and reconciled against system records
    • Investigate variances by checking stock movements, locations, receiving records, issue notes and system transactions, escalating unresolved discrepancies to the Senior Stock Controller
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records, including receipts, issues, transfers, returns, RMAs, serial numbers, locations and supporting documentation
    • Support general office administration by handling relevant calls, emails, correspondence, deliveries and package distribution in a professional and responsive manner

Master the Stock Control Screen: From Receiving to Reconciliation

This role is the backbone of telecoms inventory accuracy. Hiring managers will probe how you handle receiving, picking, and cycle counts under pressure, and whether you can keep NetSuite records spotless.

    1. Show your NetSuite or ERP fluency: If you have used NetSuite, SAP, or any inventory module, highlight it on your CV and be ready to describe specific transactions you handled—receipts, transfers, adjustments. If not, take a quick online course to get basic familiarity.

    2. Prove your numerical accuracy: Stock roles live and die by numbers. Prepare a story where your attention to detail caught a discrepancy or prevented a stockout. Mention any experience with serialized items or high-value equipment.

    3. Understand 5S and FIFO: The posting explicitly mentions 5S and FIFO. Be ready to explain how you apply these in daily work—organizing bins, rotating stock, and keeping the stores audit-ready.

    4. Prepare for physical task questions: Expect questions about lifting, bending, and working on your feet. Emphasize your reliability and safety awareness, and mention any experience with manual handling training.

    5. Brush up on documentation: Know your way around purchase orders, delivery notes, and packing slips. Be ready to describe how you verify inbound deliveries and handle discrepancies.

    6. Show communication skills: You'll interact with couriers, suppliers, and internal teams. Prepare examples of clear, professional communication, especially when escalating issues.

    7. Highlight your driving license: If you have a valid license, mention it prominently—it's desirable and could set you apart.

    8. Ask about the team and systems: In the interview, ask about the current inventory challenges and how the team uses NetSuite. This shows genuine interest and helps you tailor your answers.
