Show You Can Run a Storehouse Under Pressure

This role is about more than moving boxes—it's about disciplined stock control, safety, and accountability. Hiring managers will look for proof you can handle the physical and administrative demands of a busy military supply environment.

    1. Highlight your stock management wins: On your CV, give a concrete example of how you improved stock accuracy or reduced losses. Numbers speak louder than vague claims.

    2. Prove your forklift and driving licences: Make sure your valid MHE/Forklift licence and clean driving licence are clearly listed. These are non-negotiable for this role.

    3. Show you know safety protocols: Mention your Manual Handling and COSHH training. Give an example of how you've applied safety rules in a previous job.

    4. Demonstrate computer skills: Be ready to talk about your experience with MS Word and Excel, especially for inventory tracking. If you've used any store management software, mention it.

    5. Prepare for scenario questions: Expect questions like 'How would you handle a delivery with damaged goods?' Think through your answer using the steps in the job description.

    6. Understand the military context: This is a British Army unit, so discipline and following procedures are key. Show that you can work within a structured chain of command.

    7. Be ready for physical demands: The job involves standing, lifting, and moving objects. Be honest about your physical fitness and give an example of similar work you've done.

    8. Ask smart questions: At the interview, ask about the size of the storage facility, the team you'll work with, and how performance is measured. This shows you're serious about the role.
