Master the Full Stack of GPS Tracking: From Wiring to Wialon

This role is not just about bolting devices onto vehicles. Securex wants an engineer who can handle the physical install, the electrical connections, and the software configuration that makes fleet tracking actually work. Your application needs to show you're comfortable with both a multimeter and a fleet management dashboard.

    1. Showcase hands-on installation experience: On your CV, detail specific vehicles and device models you have worked on. Mention the types of connections you have made, such as CAN bus, ignition, and fuel sensors. Quantify your experience, for example, 'Installed and configured 200+ tracking units across a mixed fleet of trucks and personal vehicles.'

    2. Prove your Wialon or similar platform skills: Since the job explicitly asks for fleet management platform experience, be ready to discuss your proficiency. Mention specific tasks you have performed, like creating geo-fences, setting up alerts, and generating reports. If you have certifications or have completed training on Wialon, highlight them.

    3. Prepare to discuss troubleshooting scenarios: Hiring managers will probe how you handle common issues like offline devices or inaccurate location reporting. Have a clear, step-by-step approach ready for diagnosing these problems. For example, explain how you would check power supply, SIM card connectivity, and APN settings before suspecting a hardware fault.

    4. Emphasize your electrical knowledge: This role requires strong knowledge of vehicle electrical systems. Be specific about your experience with relays, immobilizers, and electronic locks. Mention any work you have done with wiring diagrams and your comfort level with using a multimeter to test circuits.

    5. Highlight your ability to work independently: The job requires working with minimal supervision. Provide an example from your past where you successfully managed a project or a territory on your own. Show that you can plan your day, manage your time, and still deliver quality results without constant oversight.

    6. Show your customer service side: Technical roles still need soft skills. You will be supporting internal teams and customers. Prepare to talk about a time you explained a technical issue to a non-technical person or handled a difficult customer complaint with professionalism.

    7. Get your driving license ready: A valid driving license is an added advantage, so if you have one, make sure it is current and mention it in your application. This shows you are ready to go on-site for installations and support calls without any logistical hurdles.

    8. Tailor your CV for the role: Use keywords from the job description like 'GPS tracking', 'Wialon', 'CAN bus', and 'vehicle electrical systems'. This helps you get past any automated screening and shows the recruiter that you have read the requirements carefully. Keep your CV concise and focused on the most relevant experience.
