Show Your Editing Chops Before the Interview

For video editor roles, your showreel is your first interview. Hiring managers at Trade Care Academy will look for clean cuts, synced audio, and motion graphics that explain agricultural concepts clearly.

    1. Curate a tight showreel: Keep it under 2 minutes and lead with your strongest work. Include AI-generated clips and motion graphics samples that match the educational tone of the role.

    2. Tailor your portfolio to agriculture: If you have any farming or educational content, put it upfront. Show that you can make complex topics engaging.

    3. Master Premiere Pro shortcuts: Speed matters in production. Practice keyboard shortcuts and efficient workflows to hit tight deadlines.

    4. Learn AI prompting: Familiarize yourself with tools like Runway or Midjourney. Be ready to explain how you'd use AI to speed up asset creation.

    5. Prepare a case study: Pick one video you're proud of and break down your process: from raw footage to final export, including how you solved problems.

    6. Sync audio like a pro: Poor audio sync is a common red flag. Show you can align voiceovers and music precisely.

    7. Know the SOPs: Be ready to discuss how you follow style guides and checklists to keep output consistent.

    8. Bring your personality: Editors often work in teams. Show you're collaborative and open to feedback during the interview.
