    Additional Information

How to Apply: Interested and qualified candidates should apply through the Kenya Space Agency careers portal at jobs.ksa.go.ke.

Show Your ICPAK Edge and Public Sector Savvy

This role sits inside a government agency, so the hiring panel will be looking for someone who can handle strict financial controls and public accountability. Your application should prove you know how to keep clean books under the Public Finance Management Act and can speak the language of audits and compliance.

    1. Lead with your ICPAK membership: Make your membership in ICPAK or another recognized professional body impossible to miss on your CV. Place it right under your name and in your professional summary, because it's a hard requirement that will screen out many applicants.

    2. Tailor your CV to public sector accounting: Use phrases like 'revenue collection', 'budget monitoring', 'bank reconciliation', and 'financial reporting' to mirror the job description. If you have experience with government or NGO accounting, highlight it prominently.

    3. Quantify your achievements: Instead of saying 'managed budgets', say 'monitored a budget of KES 50 million and ensured 98% compliance with spending limits'. Numbers make your experience tangible and credible.

    4. Prepare for technical questions on accounting standards: Be ready to discuss IPSAS or IFRS, and how you've applied them in your previous roles. The panel may probe your knowledge of public sector accounting frameworks.

    5. Show your computer proficiency: Mention specific accounting software you've used, such as QuickBooks, Sage, or government financial systems like IFMIS. If you've used IFMIS, that's a major plus.

    6. Demonstrate your ability to handle pressure: This role involves processing payments and authorizing claims, which requires accuracy and integrity. Prepare a story about a time you caught an error or prevented a financial discrepancy.

    7. Understand the agency's mission: The Kenya Space Agency is a relatively new government body focused on space technology. Show that you understand its mandate and how your accounting role supports its strategic goals.

    8. Practice for the interview: Expect questions about your experience with revenue analysis, financial reporting, and working with multiple stakeholders. Prepare concise, confident answers that highlight your results and your fit for a public sector environment.

CareerSasa Safety Alert: Never pay employers or agencies for interviews, training, or job placement. Does a job request payment? Report it immediately using the "Flag" button. While CareerSasa vets job postings thoroughly, always verify opportunities independently.
