Show How You Turn Sponsorships into Customer Moments

For this role, hiring managers want to see that you can think beyond the logo placement. They are looking for someone who can design activations that actually move brand metrics and customer engagement.

    1. Quantify your activation wins: On your CV, list specific sponsorship or event projects you have led, and include numbers: reach, engagement rates, leads generated, or sales uplift. For example, “Increased brand recall by 20% through a national sports activation.”

    2. Show budget discipline: Since budget tracking is a core requirement, be ready to talk about how you managed budgets, reconciled expenses, and handled procurement processes. Mention any tools you used, like SAP or Excel.

    3. Prepare a portfolio of ideas: Bring a few creative activation concepts tailored to KCB's sports properties (motorsports, golf, athletics). Show that you understand the audience and how to create memorable experiences.

    4. Demonstrate stakeholder savvy: This role involves partnering with business, product, and sales teams. Give examples of how you influenced cross-functional teams and managed external vendors.

    5. Know the sports marketing landscape: Be ready to discuss trends in sports sponsorships, fan engagement, and experiential marketing in Kenya. Show that you follow the local scene.

    6. Highlight reporting skills: You will prepare post-activation reports. Show that you can turn data into insights and recommendations. Mention any dashboards or reporting tools you have used.

    7. Align with the brand: Research KCB's brand values and recent activations. In the interview, connect your ideas to their strategy and show you understand their customer base.

    8. Ask smart questions: Prepare questions about their current sponsorship portfolio, success metrics, and challenges. This shows you are thinking strategically about the role.
