Show You Can Shape Public Perception

This role sits at the heart of how the Agency talks to the public, media, and partners. Hiring managers will look for someone who can turn complex space-related work into clear, engaging stories.

    1. Tailor your CV to communications impact: Highlight specific campaigns, press releases, or content you've created. Use numbers: e.g., 'Increased social media engagement by 30% in six months.' Show that you understand the link between communication and organizational goals.

    2. Prepare a portfolio of your writing and media work: Bring samples of press releases, speeches, or social media posts you've drafted. If you have photography or video work, include those too. This proves you can handle the multimedia demands of the role.

    3. Understand the Agency's mandate: Research Kenya Space Agency's current projects and achievements. Be ready to discuss how you would communicate complex technical topics to the public in simple, engaging ways.

    4. Show proficiency with digital tools: The role involves updating the website and social media. Mention your experience with content management systems, social media scheduling tools, and basic graphic design or video editing software.

    5. Demonstrate event coordination skills: The role includes protocol and hospitality arrangements. Give examples of events you've helped organize, from planning to execution, and how you managed logistics and stakeholder communication.

    6. Highlight your customer service orientation: Carrying out customer satisfaction surveys means you'll interact with the public. Share examples of how you've gathered feedback and used it to improve communication or services.

    7. Show commitment to CSR and community engagement: The role involves CSR programmes. Talk about any volunteer work or community projects you've been part of, and how you communicated those initiatives to wider audiences.

    8. Prepare for behavioral questions: Expect questions like 'Tell me about a time you handled a PR crisis' or 'How do you prioritize multiple communication tasks?' Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to structure your answers with concrete examples.
