CareerSasa Application Tips: How to Get Noticed by Unga Limited

Before you hit “Apply Here,” pause. Jobs like this attract hundreds of applications — and Unga Limited doesn’t hire by chance. They hire by evidence. Here’s how to make your application stand out like freshly milled flour under a spotlight:

    1. Prove You Understand the Fawema Line Inside Out: Mention specific packaging machinery you’ve worked with (e.g., Fawema, Bosch, or Rovema). Technical-specific keywords increase shortlisting chances by 32%.
    2. Quantify Your Impact, Don’t Just Describe It: Replace “I supervised production” with “Reduced rework by 15% through real-time parameter monitoring.” Employers recall measurable results three times faster than generic duties (Harvard Business Review, 2023).
    3. Show Mastery of GMP and Food Safety Audits: Unga is heavily regulated. Highlight HACCP audits, GMP inspections, or KEBS compliance reports you’ve led. 61% of food manufacturers globally say audit readiness is their top hiring filter (Food Processing Magazine, 2024).
    4. Customize Your CV Title for the Job: Rename your CV header to “Fawema Supervisor – Unga Limited” before submitting. ATS systems prioritize matching keywords, which can boost your visibility by up to 40%.
    5. Mirror Unga’s Culture Code – FIRST (Focus, Integrity, Respect, Safety, Teamwork); Integrate these values subtly into your cover letter. This signals cultural alignment — one of the strongest predictors of retention.
    6. Demonstrate ERP and SAP Proficiency: SAP experience is a rare gem in packaging supervision roles. Mention any ERP implementation, material reconciliation, or data reporting projects you’ve handled.
    7. Be Early, Be Seen: Most Kenyan recruiters close shortlisting 7–10 days before the official deadline. Early applications are reviewed first — sometimes exclusively.
    8. Follow Up the Smart Way: Send a short, polite email 3–4 days after submission confirming receipt and reaffirming your enthusiasm. It keeps your name fresh in the recruiter’s mind — a proven strategy in 67% of successful hires.
