How to Apply: Interested and qualified candidates should apply online via the Poa Internet career portal at poainternet.bamboohr.com.

Prove You Can Own a Territory and Hit Targets

Field sales roles live on numbers: leads generated, doors knocked, deals closed. The hiring team at Poa Internet will be looking for evidence that you can hustle daily, handle rejection, and still show up with a plan.

    1. Quantify your hustle on your CV: Instead of saying you are 'good at sales,' show numbers. If you have sold anything before—airtime, products, services, even in a school project—state how many customers you reached or targets you met. For example, 'Generated 50 leads in one month during a door-to-door campaign.'

    2. Prepare stories about rejection: Expect the interviewer to ask how you handle 'no.' Have a concrete example where you turned a refusal into a sale or kept pushing after multiple rejections. This proves resilience, which is the core of field sales.

    3. Show you know Mombasa: Since the role is territory-based in Mombasa, mention your familiarity with the area—estates, markets, or community dynamics. This signals you can navigate and build relationships quickly.

    4. Practice a mini sales pitch: You may be asked to sell something on the spot. Prepare a 30-second pitch for a product you know well, focusing on benefits and handling a common objection. Keep it clear and confident.

    5. Highlight your communication skills: Field sales requires talking to diverse people—from landlords to market vendors. Give examples of how you have explained complex things simply or persuaded someone in a past role or activity.

    6. Show you are tech-savvy: The role requires using systems and submitting daily reports. Mention any experience with smartphones, apps, or CRM tools. If you have none, emphasize your willingness to learn quickly.

    7. Ask smart questions: In the interview, ask about the sales targets, the territory size, and the training process. This shows you are serious about the job and thinking about how to succeed in it.

    8. Dress and act the part: Field sales is about approachability and professionalism. Dress smart-casual, arrive early, and greet everyone with energy. First impressions matter when you are selling yourself.
