    Job Description

To manage the operational interface between product development, data, revenue, and customer acquisition. Key Responsibilities

    • Lead quality assurance for all product releases by defining test cases, conducting checks, identifying issues, and tracking them through resolution.
    • Monitor product performance and maintain regular reports covering subscriber numbers, customer acquisition funnels, product usage, and feature performance.
    • Develop product requirements, specifications, and task documentation based on agreed business priorities.
    • Coordinate activities between development teams and other business functions to ensure clear communication and timely delivery.
    • Establish and maintain operational processes and documentation to improve efficiency and accountability.
    • Lead the execution of paid customer acquisition campaigns, including campaign setup, budget allocation, performance monitoring, and optimization.
    • Manage advertising budgets and track key acquisition metrics, including Cost Per Install CPI, Customer Acquisition Cost CAC, and Customer Lifetime Value LTV.
    • Analyse campaign performance and optimize channels to improve customer acquisition efficiency and return on investment.
    • Work closely with Marketing and Partnerships teams on audience targeting, creative development, market insights, and campaign strategy.
    • Identify opportunities to improve customer acquisition, conversion, engagement, and retention through data-driven growth initiatives.
    • Coordinate telecommunications, billing, payment, and technology partner integrations.
    • Manage integration requirements, testing activities, implementation plans, and go-live checklists.
    • Work with relevant internal and external stakeholders to resolve integration and operational issues promptly.
    • Produce and maintain accurate performance dashboards and reports.
    • Analyse subscriber, funnel, campaign, and product data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas requiring improvement.
    • Translate data into actionable recommendations for growth and operational decision-making.
    • Ensure key performance metrics are consistently monitored and communicated to relevant stakeholders.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
    • Proven experience in Product Operations, Growth, Performance Marketing, Digital Operations, or a related role within a digital or mobile-focused company.
    • Strong hands-on experience in media buying and paid customer acquisition, including paid social, programmatic advertising, or application-install campaigns.
    • Demonstrated understanding of CPI, CAC, LTV, conversion rates, and customer acquisition economics.
    • Strong analytical skills with experience using Google Analytics, advertising platform dashboards, and other digital performance tools.
    • Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and translate insights into practical business decisions.
    • Strong organisational and process-management skills, with the ability to independently develop systems and documentation.
    • Experience coordinating product development, software releases, testing, or technology integrations.
    • Ability to work independently in a lean, fast-paced, and results-oriented environment.
    • Experience with African digital, mobile, telecommunications, subscription, or technology products will be an added advantage.
    • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Hands-on media buying experience is mandatory.
    • Managed paid advertising budgets.
    • Set up and executed paid acquisition campaigns.
    • Monitored campaign performance and acquisition costs.
    • Tracked CPI, CAC, LTV, and related growth metrics.
    • Optimized advertising channels based on performance data.
    • Strong analytics and mobile product experience are highly valuable, but the ability to personally manage paid acquisition and take ownership of the resulting growth metrics is essential.

Show You Can Own Paid Acquisition Metrics From Day One

This role sits where product, data, and revenue meet, and the hiring team will probe how you personally run campaigns, not just manage teams. They want proof you can set up, monitor, and optimize paid acquisition while keeping product releases on track.

    1. Lead with your media buying numbers: On your CV and in the interview, quantify your paid acquisition experience: budgets managed, campaigns run, CPI/CAC/LTV improvements. For example, 'Reduced CPI by 30% across three markets while scaling spend by 40%.'

    2. Prepare a product ops story: Have a concrete example of coordinating a product release: how you defined test cases, tracked issues, and ensured on-time delivery. Mention the tools you used (Jira, Trello, etc.) and how you communicated with developers.

    3. Show your analytics fluency: Be ready to walk through a dashboard you built or used, explaining how you turned data into decisions. Mention Google Analytics, ad platform dashboards, and any SQL or Excel skills.

    4. Understand the African mobile context: If you have experience with African digital, mobile, telecom, or subscription products, highlight it. If not, show you understand the market's unique challenges like low data costs, feature phones, and mobile money.

    5. Demonstrate process ownership: This role requires building systems from scratch. Share an example of a process or documentation you created that improved efficiency or accountability.

    6. Prepare for integration questions: The role coordinates telecom, billing, and payment integrations. Think of a time you managed a partner integration, including testing and go-live checklists.

    7. Show you can translate data into action: Give an example where you spotted a trend in subscriber or funnel data and recommended a change that improved conversion or retention.

    8. Be ready to talk stakeholder management: You'll work with marketing, partnerships, and technical teams. Prepare a story about managing conflicting priorities and keeping everyone aligned.
