    • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, tour operators, event planners and other strategic partners.
    • Develop and negotiate partnerships that generate sustainable revenue and support long-term business growth.
    • Generate and secure business for conferences, meetings, weddings, events and group bookings.
    • Manage key accounts through regular client engagement, business reviews, follow-ups and customized solutions.
    • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and consistently convert prospects into profitable business.

    • Collaborate with Reservations, Front Office, Food & Beverage and Operations teams to support seamless service delivery.
    • Maintain accurate sales records, client information, forecasts and pipeline reports using CRM and sales management tools.
    • Track sales performance against targets and implement strategies to address performance gaps.
    • Prepare regular sales reports, revenue forecasts and business development updates for management.
    • Provide management with market insights and recommendations to support commercial decision-making.
    • Manage sales and business development activities within the approved budget and ensure a strong return on investment.
    • Identify opportunities to increase repeat business, client retention and overall customer value.
    • Contribute to the development of new revenue streams and initiatives that strengthen the hotel's competitive position.

    Required Qualifications

    • A Bachelors Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Sales or a related discipline.
    • At least 6 years of relevant experience in hotel sales, business development or a comparable commercial role within the hospitality sector.
    • A demonstrable history of meeting or exceeding sales targets and contributing to hotel revenue growth.
    • Strong experience in corporate account management, strategic partnerships and business-to-business sales.

    • Strong commercial acumen and a proactive approach to sales.
    • Excellent negotiation, prospecting and business development capabilities.
    • Outstanding communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.
    • A target-oriented mindset with a consistent focus on results.

Master the Hotel Sales Cycle Before You Apply

Hotel sales is about converting relationships into revenue. This role expects you to own the full cycle—from prospecting to closing and account growth—so your application must show you understand that rhythm.

    1. Quantify your wins: Use numbers on your CV: revenue grown, targets exceeded, accounts retained. For example, "Grew corporate accounts by 30% in 18 months." Hiring managers in hospitality love concrete proof.

    2. Show you know the segments: This role covers corporate, travel, events, and leisure. Tailor your CV to highlight experience in at least two of these, with examples of deals you closed in each.

    3. Prove CRM fluency: Mention specific tools you've used (e.g., Salesforce, Opera, or even Excel trackers). Be ready to explain how you used data to forecast and prioritize.

    4. Prepare a 90-day plan: In the interview, outline how you'd assess the hotel's current pipeline, target top accounts, and hit early wins. This shows strategic thinking and initiative.

    5. Practice the partnership pitch: You'll negotiate with travel agencies and event planners. Prepare a brief example of a win-win partnership you structured, and what you'd do differently.

    6. Highlight cross-team collaboration: This role works with Reservations, F&B, and Operations. Give an example of how you coordinated with other departments to deliver a seamless client experience.

    7. Show you know the market: Research Nairobi's hotel scene: key competitors, corporate demand drivers, and event trends. Mention one insight in your cover letter to show you're plugged in.

    8. Polish your presentation: You'll present to senior decision-makers. Prepare a crisp, confident summary of your achievements and why you're the fit. Practice aloud until it sounds natural.
