Master the Mailroom: What It Takes to Run Military Mail Ops

This role is the backbone of communication for a remote site, and the hiring team needs someone who can handle the pressure of strict regulations and tight deadlines. Your ability to follow DoD and USPS rules to the letter will be tested, so come prepared to show you understand the stakes.

    1. Know the Regs: Familiarize yourself with the key DoD directives and USPS policies mentioned in the posting. Even if you haven't worked with them, showing you've read up on them demonstrates initiative and seriousness.

    2. Highlight Your Logistics Skills: Emphasize any experience with sorting, transporting, or delivering mail or packages. Use concrete examples of how you managed volume, maintained accuracy, and met deadlines.

    3. Show You're Detail-Oriented: In this role, a misplaced package or an inaccurate roster can have serious consequences. Provide examples of how you've maintained meticulous records or caught errors before they became problems.

    4. Communicate Clearly: You'll work with contractors, subcontractors, and HR. Demonstrate your ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both in writing and verbally, especially in English.
