    Mastering the Earth Observation Interview

This senior role demands deep technical expertise and strategic thinking. Hiring panels will probe your hands-on experience with satellite data and your ability to translate it into policy and programs.

    1. Showcase your technical depth: Be ready to discuss specific remote sensing software (e.g., QGIS, ERDAS, ENVI) and processing techniques. Prepare a portfolio of projects where you've applied these tools to solve real-world problems.

    2. Demonstrate leadership and experience: With 8+ years required, highlight your progression and leadership in managing teams or projects. Provide concrete examples of how you've mentored junior staff and driven results.

    3. Align with the agency's mission: Research Kenya's space agenda and national development priorities. Show how your work in Earth observation can support areas like agriculture, security, or disaster management.

    4. Communicate policy and regulatory knowledge: This role involves implementing regulations and guidelines. Familiarize yourself with Kenya's space policy and international frameworks like the UN Space Treaties.

    5. Prepare for practical scenarios: You may be given a case study involving satellite imagery analysis. Practice interpreting images and presenting findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

    6. Highlight your research and innovation: Discuss any publications, patents, or innovative projects you've led. Show how you've contributed to advancing Earth observation applications.

    7. Emphasize stakeholder engagement: This role requires building networks. Prepare examples of how you've collaborated with government agencies, universities, or international partners.

    8. Show commitment to capacity building: Since training is a key duty, share your experience in developing and delivering training programs. Bring sample materials or outlines to demonstrate your approach.
