    Job Description

    The Procurement Analyst will manage and deliver effective procurement and purchasing services to all areas of the business whilst establishing best practice procurement and purchasing systems and procedures. The role holder will enhance purchasing processes and align the procurement function with the organizational strategy in supporting the Bank's operations and mission. In addition, the role holder will ensure that best total value is achieved when procuring goods and services whilst adhering to the principles of good corporate governance.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Rationalize organizational resources to maximize utilization and reduce expenditure.
    • Receive and review requisitions from users to confirm that specifications are clear.
    • Conduct supplier audits and appraisals and manage supplier relationships.
    • Procure goods and services that meet the quantity and quality expectations of the organization.
    • Negotiate favorable contractual terms for supplies, contracts, and leased assets.
    • Complete and issue Local Purchase Orders, Award Letters, and Contracts.
    • Monitor deliveries from suppliers to ensure conformity with specifications.
    • Prepare, invite, and analyze tenders.
    • Ensure proper filing of records, including tenders, committee memoranda, minutes, and other correspondence within the unit.
    • Evaluate requirements from users before committing purchases and ensure that services are provided within the agreed Service Level Agreement.
    • Liaise with users as required to ensure the efficient flow of supplies and services.
    • Handle supply-related disputes concerning poor quality, short deliveries, late deliveries, and payment.
    • Monitor and enforce the organization's procurement policies and procedures.
    • Monitor supplier performance.
    • Monitor purchases relating to capital and recurrent expenditure against the budget.
    • Monitor changes in the supply market and periodically conduct market intelligence surveys.
    • Conduct market research on product development and alternative sources of supply to ensure the Bank maintains a competitive edge.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
    • Professional procurement and supply chain certification will be an added advantage.
    • At least one 1 year of relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
    • Experience within a banking, financial services, or similarly regulated environment will be an advantage.
    • Working knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, tendering, contract management, and purchasing practices.
    • The job holder will be required to assess and analyze procurement and purchasing requirements and make recommendations/proposals to the Manager.
    • Will be involved in frequent price and SLA negotiations with suppliers for the benefit of the Bank.
    • Will be required to keep abreast of price and quality market changes and contribute towards cost and quality management.
    • Working on screens for more than 4 hours a day.
    • Manual/physical involvement in supervising the receipt and distribution of items as and when required.
    • The job holder will be required to assess and analyze purchasing requirements and make recommendations to their supervisor.
    • Will be involved in frequent price negotiations with suppliers to ensure the best value for money.
    • Will be required to keep abreast of price and quality market changes and contribute towards cost-cutting and quality management.
