Show Your Data and Stakeholder Savvy

This role sits at the intersection of data, communication, and process. Hiring managers will look for someone who can turn raw product numbers into clear reports and keep cross-functional teams in sync.

    1. Quantify your data skills: On your CV, give concrete examples of how you've used spreadsheets or analytics tools to track metrics or spot trends. Mention any dashboards you've built or reports you've owned.

    2. Prepare a stakeholder story: Be ready to describe a time you communicated technical or product information to a non-technical audience. Highlight how you tailored your message to different departments.

    3. Brush up on product analytics: Review basic A/B testing concepts and common product metrics like activation, retention, and churn. You might be asked how you'd interpret a simple experiment result.

    4. Show curiosity for user research: Even if you haven't run interviews, talk about any experience gathering feedback or observing user behavior. Emphasize your ability to document findings objectively.

    5. Demonstrate process improvement thinking: Think of a small inefficiency you noticed in a past role and how you suggested a fix. Show that you can identify issues and propose simple, practical solutions.

    6. Highlight collaboration tools: List tools like Jira, Confluence, or Slack on your CV. Be ready to explain how you've used them to keep projects moving and documentation current.

    7. Understand change management basics: Even if you're entry-level, show you grasp why change management matters. Mention any coursework or reading you've done on the topic.

    8. Ask smart questions: In the interview, ask about the product roadmap, how the team measures success, and what tools they rely on daily. This shows genuine interest and helps you assess fit.
