Show You Can Manage Multi-Stakeholder Programmes

This role sits at the intersection of health, environment, and international policy. Hiring managers will probe how you've handled complex projects with governments, UN agencies, and NGOs across different countries.

    1. Map your experience to One Health: If you've worked on projects linking human, animal, or environmental health, highlight them explicitly. Even if your background is broader, show how your work touched on biodiversity, climate, or pollution.

    2. Prove your data skills: The posting emphasizes data analytics and visualization. Be ready to discuss specific tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau) and give examples of how you turned data into decisions.

    3. Emphasize developing country experience: With two years required, detail your work in developing countries. Focus on challenges you navigated and how you adapted your approach.

    4. Show UN or international organization familiarity: If you've worked with the UN or similar bodies, describe your role in interagency initiatives. Mention any experience with UN processes, reporting, or coordination.

    5. Prepare for competency-based questions: Expect questions on professionalism, communication, and teamwork. Use the STAR method to structure your answers, drawing from concrete examples.

    6. Highlight your master's degree and certifications: Ensure your CV clearly shows your advanced degree in a relevant field. If you have data analytics certifications, list them prominently.

    7. Tailor your CV to the job description: Use keywords from the posting like 'programme management', 'One Health', 'data visualization', and 'stakeholder liaison'. Mirror the language to pass ATS filters.

    8. Research UNEP's current initiatives: Before applying, review UNEP's work on health and environment. Mention specific projects or reports you find relevant in your cover letter to show genuine interest.
