Master the Art of Converting Travel Enquiries

In the tours and travel sales game, your ability to turn a casual enquiry into a confirmed booking is everything. Hiring managers will be looking for evidence that you can handle the full sales cycle, from first contact to follow-up, with professionalism and persistence.

    1. Showcase your travel industry knowledge: On your CV and in the interview, highlight your understanding of popular destinations, tour packages, and travel products. Mention specific examples of itineraries you've sold or destinations you know well.

    2. Prove your sales track record: Quantify your achievements. Instead of just saying you met targets, state by how much you exceeded them or the number of leads you converted monthly.

    3. Demonstrate your follow-up skills: Give a concrete example of a time you persistently followed up on a lead and eventually closed the deal. Explain your follow-up strategy and tools used.

    4. Prepare for role-play scenarios: Be ready to simulate a sales conversation where you handle a client enquiry, recommend a package, and handle objections. Practice your pitch for a popular destination.

    5. Highlight your CRM proficiency: Since the job requires using CRM systems, mention specific CRMs you've used (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and how you used them to track leads and manage your pipeline.

    6. Show you're results-driven: Emphasize your comfort with sales targets and your motivation to achieve them. Share a story of a challenging sales goal you met.

    7. Emphasize your communication skills: As a sales executive, you'll be writing proposals and communicating with clients. Bring samples of professional emails or proposals you've crafted, if possible.

    8. Research the company and its offerings: Before the interview, visit the company's website and social media to understand their tour packages and target market. Tailor your answers to show how you can contribute to their specific sales goals.
