The School Cook will oversee large-scale food preparation and production for the organization, ensuring nutritional, hygienic, and timely delivery of meals. The role involves menu planning, supervising kitchen staff, maintaining stock, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and review menus to meet nutritional requirements.
Supervise food preparation and production activities.
Maintain stock levels for food production and manage food stores.
Receive and inspect fresh produce according to specifications.
Forecast food production needs and plan accordingly.
Maintain accurate food production and inventory records.
Supervise and train kitchen assistants.
Required Qualifications
Training in catering, hospitality, or related field is preferred.
Experience in institutional or large-scale cooking is an advantage.
Certificate of medical examination in line with the Food, Drugs and Chemical Substances Act.
Demonstrated merit and ability in prior work performance.
Strong organizational and supervisory skills.
