How to Apply: Interested and qualified candidates should apply online via the Kenya Space Agency careers portal at jobs.ksa.go.ke.

Show You Can Secure Space-Grade ICT Systems

This role sits at the intersection of software engineering and space infrastructure, so hiring managers will probe your ability to handle secure, high-availability systems. Your application should demonstrate hands-on experience with cybersecurity, backup/recovery, and enterprise systems in a mission-critical environment.

    1. Tailor your CV to space ICT: Highlight any experience with satellite ground systems, remote sensing data pipelines, or geospatial software. Even if your background is general software engineering, frame your projects around reliability, security, and data integrity.

    2. Prepare for technical questions on cybersecurity: Be ready to discuss how you've implemented backup strategies, handled security incidents, or ensured system availability. Concrete examples of risk assessments or mitigation plans will set you apart.

    3. Show your ability to collaborate: This role involves working with stakeholders across teams. Provide examples of cross-functional projects where you coordinated with non-technical colleagues or external partners.

    4. Demonstrate cost-effective innovation: The posting emphasizes researching cost-effective ICT solutions. Prepare a story about a time you introduced a tool or process that saved money or improved efficiency.

    5. Brush up on space-related technologies: Familiarize yourself with remote sensing, GIS, and satellite communications. Even a basic understanding shows genuine interest in the agency's mission.

    6. Emphasize your degree and certifications: Ensure your qualifications are clearly listed, especially if your degree is in a directly relevant field like aerospace engineering or computer science. Mention any certifications in cybersecurity or cloud computing.

    7. Practice behavioral questions: Expect questions about troubleshooting complex systems, managing priorities, and handling pressure. Use the STAR method to structure your answers.

    8. Research the Kenya Space Agency: Understand their current projects and strategic goals. Mentioning specific initiatives in your cover letter or interview shows you've done your homework.
