    Job Description

    The Space Education & Awareness Officer will coordinate the drafting of policies, guidelines, and regulations related to space research and innovation, ensuring alignment with strategic goals. The role involves liaising with stakeholders, preparing reports and technical materials, and contributing to the development of a centralized database of research and innovations. The officer will also assist in preparing proposals, managing logistics for centres of excellence, tracking project progress, and organizing capacity-building workshops.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Undertaking coordinating of drafting of policies, guidelines, and regulations related to space research and innovation, ensuring alignment with strategic goals
    • Liaising with relevant stakeholders of space research and innovation
    • Preparing reports and technical materials on promotion of research in space science, emerging technologies, and related fields
    • Contributing to the development and maintenance of a centralized database of research, innovations, and space objects, ensuring its accuracy and completeness
    • Assisting in the preparation of proposals, identifying resources, and managing logistics for establishment of centres of excellence
    • Tracking progress and preparing status reports of research and innovation projects for funding and implementation
    • Ensuring the protection of intellectual property and assisting with the necessary documentation space innovations
    • Maintaining a registry of pool of experts and professionals within the space ecosystem
    • Implementing the set compliance standards and regulations set in research and innovation projects
    • Organizing workshops, training sessions, and maintaining knowledge-sharing platforms in capacity-building and knowledge management activities
    • Identifying potential risks and assisting in the development of mitigation strategies for space research and innovation

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in any of the following disciplines: Physics, Astronomy, Astrophysics, Aeronautical/Aerospace, Remote Sensing, Geographical Information Science, Geo-Spatial Engineering, Surveying, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Control and Instrumentation, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
    • Proficiency in computer applications
    • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results
