    Job Description

    The Kenya Space Agency is seeking a Space Operations and Systems Engineer to support the development of space operations and systems engineering in Kenya. The role involves drafting regulations, conducting stakeholder assessments, and preparing technical reports. The engineer will also monitor tracking and telemetry systems and support research and innovation in space operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Drafting regulations and reviewing basic guidelines on launch and re-entry operations
    • Conducting stakeholder needs assessments and preparing technical summaries or recommendations
    • Organizing and documenting technical inputs for mission control, satellite manufacturing, and launch support services
    • Preparing reports and proposals related to revenue generation from space operations services
    • Evaluating infrastructure requirements for satellite assembly, integration, and testing
    • Monitoring basic tracking and telemetry system operations and assisting in resolving minor technical issues under supervision
    • Reviewing and documenting launch approvals and compliance cases with multiple agencies
    • Supporting research activities and innovation efforts in space operations and systems engineering by compiling technical input

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in any of the following disciplines: Physics, Astronomy, Astrophysics, Aeronautical/Aerospace, Remote Sensing, Geographical Information Science, Geo-Spatial Engineering, Surveying, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Control and Instrumentation, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
    • Proficiency in computer applications
    • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results
