    Job Description

Synkron International is seeking a Spare Parts Engineer to manage the entire spare parts quotation lifecycle, from client inquiry to deal closure. The role involves technical quotation development, supplier coordination, and logistics oversight to ensure timely delivery of industrial spare parts. The ideal candidate will serve as a technical point of contact for clients and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business opportunities.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Serve as the primary deal desk owner for spare parts opportunities, managing the entire quotation lifecycle from inquiry to final approval, coordinating internal approvals including pricing validation and commercial sign-off, and maintaining accurate deal records and pipeline visibility.
    • Analyze client requests and technical specifications, identify appropriate spare parts or engineering solutions, and generate technically sound quotations that reflect accurate specifications and commercial pricing, in collaboration with suppliers and manufacturers to validate part compatibility and availability.
    • Serve as a technical first point of contact for spare parts inquiries from clients, managing and responding to requests received through the contact center, providing prompt technical clarification and solution recommendations, and escalating complex engineering issues to technical specialists where necessary.
    • Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to confirm spare part availability, specifications, and pricing, source alternative parts where original components may be unavailable or delayed, and maintain supplier relationships to ensure reliable sourcing channels.
    • Work closely with internal operations and logistics teams to coordinate the dispatch of spare parts, liaise with freight and logistics partners to ensure timely shipment, and monitor order fulfillment timelines while addressing delivery challenges proactively.
    • Ensure all quotations pass through the appropriate internal approval processes, maintain compliance with Synkron's pricing policies and margin requirements, validate deal documentation, and support the commercial team in closing deals efficiently.
    • Maintain visibility of spare parts opportunities and deal pipeline, track deal progress from inquiry to order confirmation, and identify bottlenecks in the quotation or approval process and implement improvements.
    • Work closely with business development engineers to support client opportunities, collaborate with operations, logistics, procurement, and finance to ensure seamless execution, and contribute to cross-business-unit projects where spare parts solutions are required.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
    • 3–5 years of experience in engineering sales support, spare parts management, or technical commercial roles.
    • Experience in industrial spare parts, manufacturing, or engineering solutions environments.
    • Experience in quotation management and supplier coordination.
    • Ability to interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, bills of materials BOM, and engineering specifications to accurately identify spare parts required by clients.
    • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and automation components commonly used in industrial systems.
    • Ability to develop detailed, technically accurate quotations that reflect both technical and commercial viability.
    • Strong understanding of the internal commercial deal lifecycle, including inquiry intake, quotation preparation, pricing validation, approval workflows, and deal closure.
    • Ability to liaise with OEMs, distributors, and spare parts suppliers to confirm part availability, technical compatibility, lead times, and pricing.
    • Working knowledge of industrial machinery, automation systems, manufacturing equipment, bottling and packaging systems, and related engineering environments.
    • Ability to coordinate with internal operations teams and external logistics partners to ensure spare parts orders are processed, shipped, and delivered efficiently.
    • Proficiency in using CRM or deal management systems to record inquiries, track quotations, manage deal stages, and maintain accurate commercial records.
    • Understanding of spare parts inventory dynamics, including lead times, stocking strategies, supplier availability, and alternative sourcing options.
    • Understanding of pricing structures, supplier costs, and margins to ensure quotations remain competitive while maintaining profitability.
    • Strong attention to detail in ensuring quotations, pricing structures, client records, and order documentation are accurate.

Master the Quotation Lifecycle to Win This Role

This role sits at the intersection of technical know-how and commercial discipline. Hiring managers will probe how you handle pricing pressure, supplier delays, and cross-functional friction—so come with stories that show you can keep deals moving without cutting corners.

    1. Show your technical translation skills: Be ready to explain how you've turned a client's vague request into a precise spare parts list. Bring a sample BOM or technical drawing you've interpreted, and walk through your process for verifying part numbers and compatibility.

    2. Prove your commercial awareness: Expect questions on margin protection and pricing strategy. Prepare examples of how you've balanced competitive quotes with profitability, and be ready to discuss how you handle discount requests without eroding value.

    3. Demonstrate supplier relationship management: Talk about times you've negotiated lead times or sourced alternatives when original parts were unavailable. Highlight your ability to maintain strong relationships with OEMs and distributors.

    4. Highlight your CRM proficiency: Many candidates overlook the importance of accurate pipeline tracking. Show how you've used CRM tools to keep deals visible and on schedule, and mention any reporting you've generated for management.

    5. Prepare for logistics scenarios: You'll need to coordinate with freight partners and internal ops. Think of a time you resolved a shipping delay or expedited an urgent order, and explain the steps you took.

    6. Emphasize cross-functional collaboration: This role touches engineering, sales, procurement, and finance. Share examples of how you've aligned these teams to close a deal, and how you communicate technical details to non-technical stakeholders.

    7. Brush up on industrial systems: Be ready to discuss your familiarity with machinery like bottling lines or automation systems. Even if your experience isn't in those exact sectors, show you understand the components and common failure points.

    8. Show attention to detail in documentation: Quotation errors can cost money and trust. Prepare to discuss how you double-check specs, pricing, and terms, and give an example of a mistake you caught before it went out.
