    Job Description

The Training Manager will lead the global training agenda for BURN's Electric business, ensuring consistent, effective, and commercially relevant training across markets. The role owns training content, standards, rollout, and performance tracking, while providing functional guidance to in-country Training Officers who remain under their respective Country Managers. The role will ensure training supports not only employee capability, but also product usage, customer adoption, repayment where applicable, customer experience, and accurate carbon messaging.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain the global Electric training strategy, standards, and annual training plan.
    • Develop and continuously improve training content for products, sales, customer onboarding, processes, and systems.
    • Ensure training materials are current, standardized, and appropriately localized for different markets.
    • Own the rollout and dissemination of HQ training content and updates to country teams.
    • Provide functional guidance and coaching to in-country Training Officers, while working through Country Managers on local execution.
    • Lead Train-the-Trainer programs and ensure Training Officers are equipped to deliver approved content consistently.
    • Set minimum standards for onboarding, refresher training, assessments, and certification.
    • Maintain a global training calendar and track rollout and completion across markets.
    • Ensure training enables teams to effectively demonstrate product functionality, customer benefits, correct usage, PayGo processes, and troubleshooting.
    • Develop customer education tools that support successful onboarding, product adoption, and continued usage.
    • Track training's impact on product usage, adoption, customer experience, and repayment performance where applicable.
    • Use field performance and customer feedback to identify training gaps and improve content.
    • Ensure teams are trained to communicate approved carbon, climate, and clean-cooking messaging accurately and consistently.
    • Work with Carbon Excellence and Product teams to incorporate relevant changes into training content.
    • Use field verification and feedback to identify and address gaps in carbon-related customer communication.
    • Define and track global training KPIs covering completion, assessment performance, content adoption, certification, and training effectiveness.
    • Measure training impact against relevant business outcomes, including product usage, adoption, repayment, customer experience, and quality of customer interaction.
    • Provide regular reporting on training performance, key gaps, and improvement actions.
    • Drive at least two measurable training improvement initiatives per quarter.
    • Partner with Sales, Product, CX, Operations, Carbon, and Country Managers to align training with business priorities.
    • Support training requirements for new products, process changes, system changes, and market launches.

    Required Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience in Learning & Development, Training Management, Sales Enablement, or related field.
    • Experience designing and scaling training programs across multiple markets.
    • Strong understanding of adult learning, instructional design, and Train-the-Trainer approaches.
    • Strong project management, communication, stakeholder management, and coaching skills.
    • Data-literate and comfortable defining KPIs and measuring training effectiveness.
    • Experience in clean energy, electric cooking, PayGo, or carbon markets is an advantage.
    • Strategic Thinking – Connects training with business and customer outcomes.
    • Execution – translates HQ requirements into consistent market-level implementation.
    • Functional Leadership – influences and supports teams without direct line management authority.
    • Data & Analytics – uses performance data to identify gaps and measure impact.
    • Collaboration – works effectively across global and country teams.
    • Ownership – takes accountability for the quality and effectiveness of the global training framework.

Design Training That Moves Business Metrics

This role sits at the intersection of learning and commercial outcomes. Hiring managers will probe how you connect training content to product adoption, repayment, and customer experience — not just completion rates.

    1. Show business impact: On your CV and in interviews, quantify how your training programs improved sales, adoption, or customer satisfaction. Use numbers like 'increased completion by 30%' or 'cut onboarding time by 2 weeks'.

    2. Prove instructional design chops: Be ready to walk through a training module you built from scratch. Explain how you applied adult learning principles and made it scalable across markets.

    3. Master the Train-the-Trainer model: This role depends on equipping local officers. Describe how you've run ToT programs, including how you assessed trainer readiness and maintained quality.

    4. Get data-literate: Expect questions on KPIs and analytics. Prepare examples of how you used data to identify training gaps and measure effectiveness.

    5. Understand the clean energy context: Familiarize yourself with PayGo, electric cooking, and carbon messaging. Mention any relevant experience or how you'd quickly ramp up.

    6. Show stakeholder finesse: You'll partner with country managers and cross-functional teams. Share a story of influencing without authority and aligning diverse stakeholders.

    7. Prepare for strategic questions: They'll ask how you'd set the global training strategy. Outline a clear approach: assess needs, prioritize, design, rollout, measure, iterate.

    8. Highlight project management: With a global calendar and multiple markets, you need strong PM skills. Give examples of managing complex projects with tight deadlines.
