How to Apply: Interested and qualified candidates should apply via the CDL Human Resource careers portal at cdl.zohorecruit.com.

Master the Customs and Transit Maze

This role sits at the intersection of fleet efficiency and customs compliance. Hiring managers will probe how you've handled T1s, Exit Notes, and regional transit rules under pressure. Show them you can keep cargo moving while keeping paperwork bulletproof.

    1. Prove your customs fluency: Be ready to walk through your hands-on experience with KRA, KPA, URA, and regional customs systems. Mention specific documentation like T1s and Exit Notes you've processed, and how you ensured accuracy under tight deadlines.

    2. Quantify your fleet wins: Use numbers to show impact. For example, 'reduced empty running by 15%' or 'cut transport costs by 10% through route optimization' — concrete metrics make your CV stand out.

    3. Show leadership with a human touch: This role involves coaching a team. Prepare examples of how you've developed staff, set KPIs, and fostered accountability. Mention a time you turned around an underperforming team.

    4. Get ready for scenario questions: Expect 'What would you do if a truck is delayed at the border?' or 'How do you handle a transporter dispute?' Practice structured answers that show your decision-making and stakeholder management.

    5. Highlight ERP and TMS savvy: If you've used SAP, Oracle, or a transport management system, detail it. Even if not, show willingness to learn and adapt to new systems quickly.

    6. Understand the commercial side: This role involves rate negotiations and cost control. Be ready to discuss how you've negotiated with transporters and balanced cost with service quality.

    7. Communicate with impact: You'll present reports to management and update customers. Prepare examples of clear, data-driven reporting you've done — maybe a weekly ops dashboard you built.

    8. Show you're a self-starter: The posting asks for a natural leader and problem solver. Share a story where you identified an operational inefficiency and fixed it without being asked.
