    Show Your TVET Teaching Edge

This role is about turning automotive theory into hands-on competence. Hiring panels for TVET trainer posts look for evidence that you can plan lessons, manage workshops, and assess trainees fairly.

    1. Tailor your CV to TVET: Highlight your experience in automotive engineering and any teaching roles. Use specific examples of schemes of work you've prepared or practical projects you've supervised.

    2. Prepare a teaching demo: You may be asked to deliver a short lesson. Choose a practical topic like engine diagnostics or brake systems and show how you'd engage trainees.

    3. Know the TVET curriculum: Familiarize yourself with the current KNEC or TVET CDACC curriculum for automotive engineering. Mention specific units you can teach.

    4. Emphasize your licensing: If you already have a TVET Authority license, highlight it. If not, show you meet the requirements and are ready to apply.

    5. Show your assessment skills: Be ready to explain how you set exams, moderate papers, and mark assignments. Bring examples of past assessments you've designed.

    6. Highlight industry experience: If you've worked in automotive repair or maintenance, stress that. It adds credibility to your practical teaching.

    7. Prepare for interview questions: Expect questions on classroom management, handling diverse learners, and safety in the workshop. Have concrete stories ready.

    8. Bring your documents: Organize your certificates, transcripts, and ID copies neatly. Ensure they are certified and ready for submission.

CareerSasa Safety Alert: Never pay employers or agencies for interviews, training, or job placement. Does a job request payment? Report it immediately using the "Flag" button. While CareerSasa vets job postings thoroughly, always verify opportunities independently.
