Show Loan Appraisal Discipline On Paper Before You Walk Into Credit

Credit roles get flooded with vague 'customer service' claims. Hiring teams for this kind of post want proof you can appraise loans, verify documents, and keep records clean under pressure.

    1. Quantify your credit experience: On your CV, list the number of loans you processed or the portfolio size you handled. For example, 'Processed 50 loan applications monthly with a 95% accuracy rate.'

    2. Highlight Sacco software skills: If you have used any loan management system, name it explicitly. If not, mention your ability to quickly learn new software and your proficiency in Excel.

    3. Prepare for document verification questions: Be ready to explain how you check for completeness of documents and ensure compliance. Give a concrete example of a time you caught a missing signature or authorization.

    4. Show numerical and analytical skills: Expect to be tested on basic calculations and loan eligibility. Practice computing interest, repayment schedules, and debt-to-income ratios.

    5. Emphasize cross-selling ability: Since the role includes marketing, share a brief story of how you successfully promoted a financial product to a member or customer.

    6. Understand Sacco operations: Research common Sacco products like FOSA and BOSA. Mention your familiarity with member savings, loans, and dividends in the interview.

    7. Prepare for customer service scenarios: You'll likely face role-play questions about handling difficult members. Practice calm, professional responses that show empathy and problem-solving.

    8. Dress and speak professionally: Financial institutions value a polished image. Arrive in formal attire and communicate clearly, showing confidence in your ability to represent the Sacco.

CareerSasa Safety Alert: Never pay employers or agencies for interviews, training, or job placement. Does a job request payment? Report it immediately using the "Flag" button. While CareerSasa vets job postings thoroughly, always verify opportunities independently.
