Master the Art of Anticipating the CEO's Needs

In this role, your ability to stay one step ahead will set you apart. Hiring managers for executive support roles look for candidates who can demonstrate proactive thinking and flawless organization.

    1. Showcase your calendar management skills: Highlight your experience managing complex schedules, coordinating meetings across time zones, and handling last-minute changes. Provide examples of how you've kept executives on track.

    2. Demonstrate discretion and confidentiality: Emphasize your track record of handling sensitive information with integrity. Share a brief example (without breaching confidentiality) of how you've managed confidential matters.

    3. Prove your communication prowess: Strong written and verbal skills are crucial. Prepare to discuss how you've drafted correspondence, prepared reports, and liaised with senior stakeholders.

    4. Detail your organizational system: Explain how you keep records, documents, and contacts organized. Whether it's a digital tool or a filing system, show that you have a method that ensures nothing falls through the cracks.

    5. Highlight your follow-through: Give examples of how you've tracked action points and deadlines, ensuring that commitments are met. This shows you can take ownership and drive tasks to completion.

    6. Show your adaptability: The role requires comfort in a fast-moving environment. Share instances where you've pivoted quickly when priorities changed, and how you maintained composure.

    7. Prepare for stakeholder questions: You'll interact with clients, partners, and suppliers. Be ready to discuss how you've built and maintained professional relationships in previous roles.

    8. Brush up on Microsoft Office: Expect to be tested on your proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Be ready to demonstrate your skills in creating presentations, managing emails, and organizing data.
